About Me

I am a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with clinical experience in therapeutic intervention for children, adolescents, and adults and their families, comprehensive assessment services to determine diagnostic impressions and formulate a treatment plan, and consultation with families and professionals.

A native Texan, I earned by Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University, and I then attended the American Psychological Association Accredited School Psychology Doctoral Program at The University of Texas at Austin, where I received extensive training in evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavior therapy, interpersonal therapy, family therapy, psychological and psychoeducational assessments, and consultation with school professionals, mental health professionals, and physicians.  I pursued my predoctoral internship training in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center - Children's Psychiatric Center in Albuquerque, and subsequently I returned to Texas as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Child Psychology at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.  I worked as a Clinical Child Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Texas Children's Hospital, primarily serving in the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Clinic and the multidisciplinary Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic, where I attained specialized training and experience providing evidence-based cognitive behavior therapy for anxiety and depression as well as providing comprehensive psychological evaluations for developmental delays.

All of my graduate level and post-graduate clinical experiences have afforded me specialization in providing evaluation and therapy services for diverse clients presenting with AD/HD, behavior challenges, psychotic-spectrum concerns, learning difficulties, anxiety, OCD, depression, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, trauma, and adjustment-related difficulties.   I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, and I have also provided home-based therapy as a psychologist consultant with Early Childhood Intervention (ECI).  Committed to continuing care for clients in the wake of COVID-19, I am offering telehealth intake evaluation and therapy services.

With over 13 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist, I look forward to continuing to provide comprehensive psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation services and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals in the greater Austin community.  I have also presented on culturally responsive approaches for Latinx clients, child development and behavior modification approaches for preschool-aged children, and evidence-based assessment and intervention for anxiety disorders.
